DiscoverNet
All Client Environments are Not the Same
Your environment is unique and different. Recovery Networks recognizes that each of our Clients has a distinct configuration in both hardware equipment, network configuration as well as operating systems. As such, we have developed the DiscoverNet utility to query Microsoft servers to quickly and accurately provide the necessary information required by our staff to configure your recovery environment.
All data collected can be viewed by you prior to delivering to Recovery Networks.
If you have any questions, please contact your Client Representative.

Instructions
The DiscoverNet utility is a Powershell script which will collect all the information from computers operating on the domain. Run this from an administrator account on a computer that is joined to the domain. Also, sometimes Powershell scripts are disabled so if they get an error, set the “execution policy” to unrestricted. For example, if you save the script to the desktop, do the following:
Go to: Start ... All Programs ... Accessories ... Windows PowerShell ... Windows PowerShell
PS C:\Users\Administrator > set-executionpolicy unrestricted
PS C:\Users\Administrator > CD desktop
PS C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop> .\DiscoverNet.ps1
Admin Rights are required to enumerate information.
Which computer resources would you like in the report? (select [2] to select just servers on the domain)
A folder will be created called “DiscoverNet Reports” and in that folder will be a CSV file for each server in the domain. In addition, there will be a separate CSV file for each disk on each server which contains the "Aged File" analysis.
Please send those CSV files to Recovery Networks to be analyzed. Please let us know if you have any questions.
